Great deer!!! I just need to make a little, personal observation. I'm from Wisconsin, we have great bucks here, great reputation, great history, etc. We all know about Ohio, Iowa and Illinois (for good reason) and Minnesota has it's great bucks as well. Missouri has done well, Oklahoma also .......................... but is it just me, or is Kentucky coming through, and has been for more than just this year, with ALOT of FANTASTIC deer?

He is dark isnt he, kentucky has been doing very well since they put in the one buck rule. Look up Troy Gentry's 2002 Fort Knox typical ten, scored 186 6/8

Nice one for sure - good n heavy.

Hey jeffpatt, you are absolutely right about KY. I think it was the last issue of North American Whitetail for last season that explained how KY has come on strong in the last 5 yrs. NAW also rated KY #2 in the nation for B&C entries for the last 5 yrs. Most people find that hard to believe but it is easy enough to look up.

Great observation.

great buck, yes jeffpatt ky is a great place to hunt, theres a general store around where i hunt, that when someone gets a deer they take it there and get their pic taken with it and then the pic is stapled on the wall under the yr it was killed and ever since they did the 1 buck rule all the bucks on the walls have consistently gotten larger from one yr to the next. when they started all the deer were spikes and small 4s and 6s, now most are over 130 inches

Ky has been a one buck at least in our zone for as long as i can remember.. several counties in eastern ky were cosed for 5 years and then restocked i think it was 93 to 98 not for sure but the best i can remember, this definately had an impact on the deer in our area allowing a lot of deer to mature and pass on some good genetics.. thats just my thoughts on the eastern part of the state.

BY the way this is a great buck congratulations..
